According to reports, a very popular designer, Todd Oldham had proposed to team up with Old Navy in 2007 to launch a clothing line for his own company, L-7 and receive royalties.

However in September 2008, it was announced by an executive of Old Navy that license signing for the designer's line 'indefinitely' would take some time. The popular designer then sued Old Navy in 2009 for breach of contract, fraud and wrongful termination but the case was discarded by the U.S. District Judge, Denny Chin after one year.

According to the Judge, the charges pressed against Old Navy by the talented designer were not well supported and so the lawsuit filed by the designer was dismissed. But on the other hand, it is said that the decision was made by Chin without looking into the evidence or taking the advantage of expert testimony.

The case is still confined to the South District in Manhattan.

Melania Trump will be debuting her new fashion jewelry collection for QVC on April 25, and she recently sat down for an interview in her lush penthouse on New York's 5th Avenue to talk about jewelry and fashion. The 40 year old Slovenian-born model said that the idea of being first lady is exciting, and that any of the jewelry pieces in her collection would be perfect to wear to an inauguration in 2013.

Each of her jewelry pieces is priced under $200, including over-sized cocktail rings and striking timepieces. Her line features New York, Palm Beach and Paris themed collections. She also talked a bit about her husband Donald Trump, mentioning the little known fact that he has great legs, though he will never show them off in public because he refuses to wear shorts. She also said that despite the constant media attacks on his signature comb-forward hairstyle, she thinks it makes him look "very handsome."

Emeralds Can Also Be a Girl's Best Friend

Emeralds Can Also Be a Girl's Best Friend

Emeralds aren't just for those with a May birthday. Their rich green hues make them a bold and wonderful accessory for a wide variety of spring and summer outfits, and allow the stone to be placed in a variety of settings ranging from titanium to gold. Their elegance, however, does come with a generally high price tag, and finding a high quality emerald isn't always easy. So before you purchase an emerald ring to go with a beautiful summer evening dress, make sure you are buying one of high quality.
A majority of fine emeralds come from South America and the Middle East, with those of the highest quality coming from Colombia, and they are very rare. Not only are they rare, but the emeralds found are often flawed as the gemstone is a very delicate one. It isn't uncommon to find even good emeralds, like those placed in emerald rings, necklaces, and bracelets, with imperfections called jardins.

With other stones, imperfections are often looked down upon. However, with emeralds jardins are often seen as making each stone unique and distinctive. Buyers should be aware though. Jardins are often treated with paraffin or resin to keep them from growing, and a jeweler must tell you whether or not the gemstone has been treated. Untreated emeralds may also be purchased, but like those with fewer imperfections, they are highly expensive. Generally, you should try to buy an emerald with a rating of i5 or higher.
Emeralds are rated on a scale from i1-i9, and when looking for a higher quality emerald, buyers should always look for cut, clarity, and color. Because emeralds are often small in nature, cut clarity, and color are always more important than carat when purchasing these gemstones. Emeralds of lower quality have poor cuts and more yellow and blue hues in them. Always look for a gemstone with symmetrical cuts, deep color, and clarity as the jardins these gems are prone to often cause cloudiness. Emeralds may also be synthetically grown. Because these fakes are out there, buyers should always ask for a certificate of authenticity.
In addition to purchasing an emerald simply for the sake of elegance or one's birthday, it is also the gem of both the 25th and 35th wedding anniversary. The subtle yet striking flare of color that a good emerald can add to any outfit makes this gemstone highly sought after, and a great addition to any wardrobe. Diamonds aren't the only stone capable of adding sophistication to evening wear, emeralds can too.
