Wear clothing which fits perfectly
Filed in archive Size not issue by Ivy on December 29, 2006

I was in the exact same situation some six months ago, when I dropped three sizes with low-carb diet. The only thing that fit me was the lavish evening dress I bought for motivation. But all my pants, jackets, skirts, coats and even panties, bras and shoes looked absurd when I put it on. It is quite funny, sliming should make you look better in your clothes.
Believe you me, clothing must fit. Nothing should squeeze you (well, only jeans and corsets
) or dance around you. Every item looks better when tailored to perfection. If you buy a jacket that is too wide around your waist, you'll look fatter, whilst a body-line following trim will make you look slimmer. Pants too big on your behind will not hide your mighty booty, they will make it look even bigger. Blouses, which are too tight, will pop-up around buttons and reveal your underwear. There was nothing else to do for me but to shop everything all over, which was a rather big money issue with my darling. And even I didn't have the guts to re-buy some of my favorite designer outfits.
I found the perfect solution to be my brother's girlfriend, a really delightful young lady who is studying to become a designer, but is rather skillful with needles and thread, not to mention scissors, in real life too. She took in waists, shoulders, behinds and everything else that needed to be altered, and my outfits looked just great. My only problem now is that I mustn't gain any weight, or even lose some, because everything fits perfectly.
So, my ultimate advice to all you ladies aiming for perfection: there is nothing better than having a skilful seamstress in your address book. She can perfect all those clothes which are made to a standard, and even remake your favorite outfit if it got shabby or ruined with turkey stuffing. And while we're talking about dresses, go visit A Dress A Day blog, and meet the lady who lives for pretty dresses.
