Pants Suit, Noun, "A pair of pants and a matching jacket worn by women." Why do men get to wear suits but women have to wear pants suits? Yeah, I don't get it either. The one thing I do get is that a pants suit is an integral part of a woman's wardrobe. Wear it together or break it up into two different pieces. Fall brings in some interesting choices of fabric with the likes of tweed and flannel. Yeah, I said flannel and you can work it!
![]() | This amazing set blends flannel pants with a brushed silk mohair cardigan and shell. Together this is an amazing outfit, but pulled apart you have three amazing basic wardrobe pieces. Ellen Tracy available at Neiman Marcus, around $1000 for all three pieces |

I'm guessing that the term "pants suit" is used to differentiate it from a suit with a skirt.
