The Effortless Outfit

The model in the photo great, doesn't she?

I ask myself, when I see an outfit like this, if I would have the wherewithal to put it together. I blog about fashion so one would think so. Still, putting together an "effortless" outfit like this one takes nothing but effort.

When I see an off-the-shoulder blouse in the store, I inevitably shy away. I imagine the discomfort of a strapless bra, and the shirt, no matter how good looking, stays on the hanger.

Then there's the shoe/belt matchy thing. I'm always struggling to find shoes, belts and bags that perfectly match - especially when we're talking about the saddle brown pictured here. Let's face it: it's a challenge to get three medium-brown items that all go together.

Then there's the white pant. I am still searching for the right pair of white dress pants. The last time I went to select some, every pair I tried on was slightly see-through, as if seeing underwear lines and pocket lining was somehow attractive.

With all this in mind, I am grateful for Neiman Macus' packaging abilities. I could click through on their site, and buy the whole outfit - then I'd be done!

I look, then look again… Sigh. The Off-the-Shoulder blouse isn't available, and without it, there is no outfit.

Oh well, who ever said fashion was easy!
