Spring 2009 Roundup

Now that Fashion Week is over, what can you take away to use in your Spring '09 wardrobe? In reporting on the trends for next year, I'll try to cover names you recognize as well as designers who aren't as well known, but are just as talented. Remember: everything that's "in" isn't necessarily for every body - take what works for you and your particular frame and leave the rest. You don't have to slavishly follow every single trend. Now onto the first of my collections roundups:

Vera Wang showed some sheer designs as part of the sheer wave that's coming through for Spring. I like sheer for night, but even if you dare to wear it during the day, proper undergarments are a must! I know runway models sashay down the catwalk with nary a bra in sight, but let's not get caught out that way.

Donna Karen had some luxe glamour going on with lots of color. Blue is going to be big this spring.

Catherine Holstein's debut runway collection involves easy pieces (think: relaxed). Again, notice the blue.
