While we probably will not go back to the custom of storing a loved one's lock of hair within secret jewelry compartments or scribbling messages to our loved one's on their windowpanes with our diamond rings, the romantic sentiments are still what appeals. The Victorian Era is remembered for being a highly romantic and sentimental age.
If you want your personal style to reflect this regard for matters of the heart, then it makes sense to include antique engagement rings in your wedding as a nod to "something old." You can always get a diamond bracelet to match as something new.
Antique jewelry isn't just limited to weddings. Although, the delicate workmanship of older jewelry pieces or styles make a perfect complement to the lace and finery of romantic wedding décor, it works well with a natural modern style too. Vintage jewelry has many beautiful nature motifs, which can be incorporated into anyone's sense of style. Floral designs and nature creatures abound and even work well with people who are more environmentally sensitive or who aren't getting married but love Mother Earth.
