Shoe maintenance

As women we spend a lot of money on our shoes and we take pride in how they look. You always want you shoes to look the best they can because essentially they are the end cap to your fantastic outfit. So what do you do when your favorite pairs of boots gets a big white scuff across the front? Or you break a heel on your most comfortable pumps? Throw yourself on the floor and throw a temper tantrum is always a good solution, but if you are not 2 years old, there are ways to fix your shoes.

Moisture is the enemy of your shoes. It can break down the material and even worse, it can harbor mold. Gross! If you were caught in an extremely bad rain storm and your shoes are all wet, a great way to get them dry is to stick crumpled up newspaper inside your shoes. I know that sounds crazy, but the newspaper helps suck out the moisture while helping your shoe maintain its shape.

Patent leather is in way in this season and patent leather is super easy to care for. Go look under your Kitchen Cabinet and grab some Windex. They clean up real nice with a little glass cleaner.

I'm sure we all have a great pair of boots that we can't bear to part with but there is only one problem, the zipper gets stuck sometimes. Well if you run a lead pencil down the zipper it will allow it run more smoothly. This also works on coats too!!

I recently bought a great pair of boots off Ebay and I was so excited when I got them, only one problem, they were a little too small. I did a research and found a whole bunch of random tips to fix this problem and decided to combine and do it on my own. The best way to stretch your shoes is to put rubbing alcohol all over the inside of your shoe, put a couple pairs or socks on, suck it up and walk around for a little while like that. The rubbing alcohol softens up the leather and the socks stretch it out. I did this and my boots find like a dream.
