Reader email, how to do sheer.

I need some help. I have some great sheer shirts but I am not sure what to wear under them or when it is appropriate to wear them. I'm afraid I might be showing too much skin. Can you help me please?

GREAT question!! Sheer can be tricky to navigate and even harder to pull off. First, avoid anything mesh. Yes, mesh is sheer but it tends to look a little cheap. Instead opt for sheer in lace and chiffon, which look more elegant and put together.

Second, always, always, always wear something underneath it. Wear a Camisole in a nude or off white color to still keep the sheer idea, without showing off the goods.

And last but not least, if you are wearing black and you think you can't see through it, think again before you get your picture taken. Flash bulbs + semi-sheer black = a picture you don't want to ever see the light of day.
