Mad Men Style

Filed in archive Matters of heart by Del on August 13, 2008

I recently had to write an article about why women don't dress up anymore. This isn't to say that all women no longer take the time and make the effort to look fabulous before they leave the house, but too often, it's only for date night or special occasions that we bother. Any other time, sweatpants and a tee will do. Or worse, pajama bottoms.

I think this lack of glamour in our current society is part of what makes Mad Men such a watchable show. I only started watching it midway through Season One and I was instantly hooked. Not only is the ensemble cast great, but the details in everything from the clothing to the decorating are just beautiful.

Besides, any excuse to post a photo of the elegant and gorgeous Jon Hamm is always welcome.

I'm not saying we have to slip into a girdle and ball gown just to go grocery shopping, but a little lipstick and pressed clothing would be nice, don't you think?
