It's sheer madness!!
Filed in archive Trends on February 16, 2008
A big trend coming up is sheer clothing and I know I had a reader email about how to wear sheer before, but now the question is, "What kind of sheer should I wear?" Well, there are definitely two kinds of sheer out there, trashy and classy. Let's stick to the classy, shall we? But if you are worried that you may be crossing into the "trashy" genre let me give you a few tips.
The key to sheer is to show less, only reveal parts that wouldn't get you in trouble if they weren't covered with a thin veil of fabric. Think arms and shoulders, maybe a little décolletage (but not too much of that!). From personal experience, I am not always happy with my skin, but I like to show it. Sometimes I get a wicked sunburn or the pure lack of color in my skin makes me want to hide it a little. Sheer is a good way to camouflage those things. Also, if it is a lined sheer, go for it, wear it however you want!
