Fashion trend: Striped dresses are nothing to fear from
Filed in archive Dresses , Size not issue , Trends on January 9, 2007
As I like to say, size is never an issue when we're talking fashion. Almost all of the stores hold petite and plus sizes now, with a lot in between, but one still has to know which styles, trends and items would fit her figure best and accent the greatest parts of it.
Believe it or not, stripes can not only be worn without fear, but we can also use the style to correct some of the things we are not so proud of. Just look:
Vertical stripes - Petites will look smashing in vertical stripes, as they elongate the body. If you're regular or plus size and would kill to look slimmer, these stripes are for you too. Try Nanette Lapore striped jumper dress, available at Neiman Marcus for $325 |
Horizontal stripes - Too slim are you? Although some would say there's no such thing, I really understand you. Add volume with horizontal stripes and a V neck, which points in the right direction. Try Minnie Rose deep V Whoa sweater dress, available at Intuition for $135 |
Diagonal stripes - Colorful, diagonal and askew stripes will add curves where you want it and the dress cut will hide the rest. Easily wearable by plus size women as well as tall and curve longing ones. Try out the M Missoni wrap swing dress available at Intermix for $695 |
