According to WebMD Diet Coke, and any other cola drink, can lead to bones thinning:
"Tucker believes the phosphoric acid in cola may explain at least some of the observed impact on bone."
But, the study did not really prove that Coke, along with a calcium poor diet, was to be blamed for bad impact on bones.
To stay on the safe side of things, and avoid osteoporosis when old, drink water and incorporate as many vegetables and fruits in your diet as possible.

Don't forget that diet soda simply substitutes High Fructose Corn Syrup with ASPARTAME ! Here's a better option. Get some sparkled water and drop in a few sprinkles of STEVIA. Now that's something truly sweet and healthy for a change.
