Chunky Jewels Still In

The chunky jewelry trend isn't going anywhere yet...it's predicted to last at least until early next year. I like chunky jewels, but you have to wear them in moderation. You pick one piece and make that the focus, so it's either a big ring or big necklace - not both. Otherwise, they're competing with each other for attention.

Also, your outfit needs to be somewhat subdued. I love these adjustable Kenneth Jay Lane rings. The colors are vibrant and kind of vintage and at $100 a pop, the rings aren't outrageously expensive.

If you're concerned about shelling out money on trends only to have that trend disappear quickly, remember that in fashion, what goes around eventually comes around again. I remember 80's stirrup pants and never thought I'd see the day those things came back in vogue, but even they have been resurrected. If chunky rings went out of style tomorrow, I'd just set mine aside because at some point in the future, they'll be all the rage again.

I used to think wearing chunky jewelry meant you were "old" -no disrespect intended. It's just I used to see my grandmother wear it alot so that what I associated with it. But having started my own jewelry business, I have actually come to like the "somewhat" chunky styles. They can be very refreshing when you wear turtlenecks. -stephanie
