Chanel Sublimage: at last a good moisturiser from Chanel
Filed in archive Beauty on October 14, 2006
I know that in the eyes of some we tend to spend way too much money on makeup and cosmetics, but I see it as an investment. Nonetheless, I only rarely bought chanel cosmetics (makeup is different), because it was really scented which I don't particularly like. Moreover, the prices were monstrous, even for a cosmetic freak like me.
Well, once again Chanel has pushed out a new product, again it is pricey, but this time it might be worth it. You see, the new Chanel Sublimage hydrating cream is all the rage right now, sold out almost everywhere, and women all over US are looking for some more to buy, regardless of its spicy price of $350 for 1.7 oz.
What is so magical about this moisturizer? First of all, it took Chanel over 6 years to design and produce it. Why so long? Well, the Chanel company wanted an anti-aging moisturizer suitable for all skin types and ages. Although this sounds really impossible, the product has gotten really good reviews, from real life women.
Second magical thing is that Chanel Sublimage contains a specific Vanilla Planifolia extract, which, combined with other ingredients results in powerful anti-aging. It irons out the wrinkles, gives your skin the firmness it lost, replenishes the moisture, gives radiance and is bound to even out skin pigmentation. In thirty days.
If you're hooked and can afford it, try getting it at Nordstrom website or Fragrance X online shop. Tell me how it goes.

It's really important to read the ingredients when looking at skincare and as a cosmetic formulator I can tell you categorically that there is NOTHING in the Chanel cream that is an accepted anti-ageing active. It is a bog-standard cream in a beautiful jar. The "magic extract" is basically vanilla extract which does have some good skin properties but is used in such a small quantity (it's at the end of the ingredient list so must be less than 1%) that it can have very little effect. If you want anti-ageing, look for retinyl palmitate, hyaluronic acid, niacimide, alpha-lipoic acid. Spend all you like on skincare, but for heaven's sake DON'T let yourself be ripped off by believing the hype!
