Can't escape the belt

Filed in archive Accessories , Trends on December 29, 2006

This season, the trend seems to be a belt. I am not going that far as to say that belts are intended to make your pants stay put, but I for one do not see the point in wearing three wide belts on over another, to satisfy someone's pervert fashion view.

But yes, you need to wear a belt at least occasionally, or people will think you are out of the know of fashion trends. Remember to wear it on top of other clothing, and put it at your waist, that way you'll avoid looking ridiculous and maybe even enhance your figure a bit by emphasizing the hour-glass look.

Can't escape the belt The thin leopard belt by Dolce and Gabbana might be just the thing to spice up that strict-looking work jacket. I think it would also look great on a pencil skirt, with a blouse tucked in. Available at Saks for $375
belt_cavalli.jpg The piraty looking Cavalli belt has a potential of matching perfectly to harsher fabrics, like Angora wool, denim or tweed. Will transform you into a less nice person, but so much more fashionable. Available at eLuxury for $89
belt_korsjpg.jpg The Kors wide belt is the real thing, for those of you who dare to walk the thin line. I am almost positive this belt looks great only up to size 10, but if you feel comfortable, by all means do it girl! Available at Bergdoorf Goodman for $395
